Basic Question Types

There are 3 basic types of question:

มีคำถามพื้นฐานอยู่ 3 ประเภท คือ

1. Yes/No Questions (The question begins with an auxiliary verb, and the answer to the question is "Yes" or "No".)

Yes/No Questions เป็นคำถามที่ขึ้นต้นด้วย auxiliary verb และต้องการคำตอบ Yes หรือ No

2. Question Word Questions (The question begins with question words such as What, Which, When, Where, Why, How, Who, Whom, Whose, and the answer to the question is "Information".)

Question Word Questions เป็นคำถามที่ขึ้นต้นด้วย question words เช่น What, Which, When, Where, Why, How, Who, Whom, Whose และต้องการคำตอบที่เป็นข้อมูล

3. Choice Questions (The question begins with an auxiliary verb, and there is ‘or’ in the sentence in order for the respondent to choose one of the choices that are already in the question as the answer to the question.)

Choice Questions เป็นคำถามที่ขึ้นต้นด้วย auxiliary verb และมีคำว่า ‘or’ อยู่ในประโยคเพื่อให้ผู้ตอบเลือกคำตอบซึ่งมีอยู่ในประโยคคำถามแล้ว

การใช้ Whom

Whom pronoun

the object form of 'who', used especially in formal speech or writing:

เป็นรูปกรรมของ 'who' ใช้เฉพาะในงานกล่าวสุนทรพจน์หรืองานเขียนที่เป็นทางการ

Example:

· Desperate for money, she called her sister, whom she hadn't spoken to in 20 years.

· She brought with her three friends, none of whom I had ever met before.

Whom is very formal. It is more usual to use who:

Whom เป็นทางการมาก ใช้ who จะเป็นธรรมชาติมากกว่า

Example:

· Who did you send it to?

· This is Liz, who I work with.

Whom is usually used only in the phrases one of whom , none of whom , some of whom etc.

โดยปกติ Whom ถูกใช้เฉพาะในวลี one of whom , none of whom , some of whom ฯลฯ
